IUBMB SEOUL 2018
It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome all of you here today for the 24th IUBMB Congress and 15th FAOBMB Congress (IUBMB SEOUL 2018). I would like to extend a special welcome and appreciation to the outstanding speakers here, especially those who have traveled from overseas to share their expertise with us. I would also like to thank all young scientists for supporting the conference with much enthusiasm. I am very impressed by the depth of the issues addressed in the program for this congress.
Since the main purpose of the IUBMB SEOUL 2018 is to provide a platform for biomedical researchers and students to socialize and exchange valuable information. I hope this congress will foster in-depth discussions and collaborations between scientists and researchers as we strive towards advancing the field of biochemistry and molecular biology.
In this year of 2018, The Korea Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (KSBMB), with joint efforts of The International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) and The Federation of Asian and Oceanian Biochemists and Molecular Biologists (FAOBMB), hosts the 24th IUBMB Congress and 15th FAOBMB Congress under the title of “Integrating Science for Bio-Health Innovation” with internationally distinguished scientists. This year’s congress is special to KSBMB, because it has 70th anniversary. I am sure that this long history of academic activity of KSBMB contributes to the tremendous gallop in biotech industries in Korea.
The congress features nine Plenary Lectures, four Special Guest Lectures and about 50 Symposia. We also prepared a variety of academic events such as lectures for future generations and young scientists, a large-scale exhibition and a lecture for the public. The congress already have more than 3,300 participants from 50 countries.
I believe this congress will contribute to the development of global biochemical and molecular biology through an exchange of the latest research trends between biochemical and molecular biologists from around the world.
Thank you for joining us today for this congress and I hope that all participants find it truly beneficial and rewarding.
